Timo Scheider beats Paul di Resta to title (DTM)

Timo Scheider claimed the 2008 DTM crown by winning the season finale at the Hockenheimring from rival Paul di Resta.
Di Resta, who needed to beat Scheider to win the championship, finished just a couple of seconds behind his Audi rival.

Davide Valsecchi converts pole to win in Shanghai (GP2 Asia)

Davide Valsecchi won the sprint race at Shanghai quite comfortably from Earl Bamber.
Javier Villa was third ahead of Chris van der Drift, Jerome D’Amrosio and Roldan Rodriguez. Rodriguez holds the lead in the championship having won yesterday’s race, with Kamui Kobayashi failing to score after retiring with damage.

Roldan Rodriguez wins as Kamui Kobayashi fumbles (GP2 Asia)

Roldan Rodriguez lost the lead of the GP2 Asia feature race at Shanghai on the first lap, as Kamui Kobayashi dived past him at the hairpin.
But he took the lead back five laps from the flag as Kobayashi ran wide at turn one.

GP2 Asia starts this weekend

In all the excitement of the F1 title finale I almost forgot that the GP2 Asia series begins its second season this weekend.
British fans can catch the action on British Eurosport at 9am on Saturday (feature race live) and 10-11am on Sunday (presumably a re-run of the sprint race, possibly with highlights of the feature).
