BTCC Donington 2: Perfect Plato

Jason Plato flattened the opposition in a second wet race at Donington Park, leading home race one winner Gordon Sheddon and Fabrizio Giovanardi.
Plato’s fifth win means he has eked out a slightly larger lead in the championship.

Fabrizio Giovanardi leads BTCC

Following a clarification by the series organisers Fabrizio Giovanardi now leads the British Touring Car Championship by a single point from Jason Plato.
Giovanardi was awarded an additional point following the Oulton Park round when it was discovered that both he and Mike Jordan had set the same fastest lap, meaning both earned an extra point.

BTCC Oulton 3: Mat Jackson takes first win

Mat Jackson capitalised on a first-lap crash and his BMW’s superior traction to take his first ever BTCC victory.
The family run Jackson team held off the works Seats of Jason Plato and Darren Turner.

BTCC Oulton 2: Turkington’s split-second win

Colin Turkington held Fabrizio Giovanardi back by a tiny margin to win the second race at Oulton Park. The Honda crossed the line 0.046s ahead of Giovanardi’s Vauxhall.
The track was wet for the second race and Oldhall corner produced its usual chaos. Dave Pinkney, Jason Hughes and Erkut Kizilirmak all collided on the first lap.

BTCC Oulton 1: Giovanardi takes championship lead

Fabrizio Giovanardi moved into the lead of the championship by finishing second behind Gordon Shedden.
Shedden took his first win of 2007 and the second for Team Halfords’ new Honda Civic. Colin Turkington was third after starting on pole.
Former championship leader Jason Plato could only manage seventh while carrying maximum ballast on his Seat.
